mycorrhizae results from the Intermounta<strong>in</strong> region to other forested ecosystems is<br />

equal ly val id for soil N relationships. Differences <strong>in</strong> climate, stand properties and<br />

soil type are only several of the variables which could alter the <strong>in</strong>tensity and direc-<br />

tion of microbiological processes occurr<strong>in</strong>g on a site.<br />
