(2) Unlawfully attempts in any manner to strike any person<br />

with any kind of projectile; or<br />

(3) Unlawfully causes any explosive substance to explode; or<br />

(4) Sends or delivers any explosive substance or other dangerous<br />

or noxious thing to any person; or<br />

(5) Causes any such substance or thing to be taken or received<br />

by any person; or<br />

(6) Puts any corrosive fluid or any destructive or explosive substance<br />

in any place; or<br />

(7) Unlawfully casts or throws any such fluid or substance at or<br />

upon any person, or otherwise applies any such fluid or<br />

substance to the person of any person;<br />

is guilty of a crime, and is liable to im~riso~ent with hard labour for<br />

life, with or without solitary confinement.<br />

317~. Taking or sen s an Aircraft. Any person<br />

who-<br />

(a) Carries or places dangerous goods on board an aircraft;<br />

(b) Delivers dangerous goods to another person for the purpose<br />

of such goods being placed on board an aircraft; or<br />

(c) Has dangerous goods in his possession on board an aircraft;<br />

is guilty of a crime and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for<br />

seven years.<br />

It is a defence to a charge of any offence defined in this section to<br />

prove that the act constituting the offence was lawfully consented to by<br />

the owner or operator of the aircraft with knowledge by him of the nature<br />

of the goods concerned or that the act was done by authority or<br />

permission of or under a law of the Commonwealth or of the State.<br />

For the purposes of this section the term “dangerous goods”<br />

means-<br />

(i) Firearms, ammunition, weapons and explosive substances;<br />

and<br />

(ii) Substances and things which by reason of their nature or<br />

condition may endanger the safety of an aircraft or of a<br />

person on board an aircraft.<br />

318. ~ ~ Escape efrom Wreck. v Any ~ person who ~ unlawfully- ~ ~ ~ ~<br />

(1) Prevents or obstructs any person who is on board of or is<br />

escaping from a vessel which is in distress or wrecked or cast<br />

ashore, in his endeavours to save his life; or<br />

(2) Obstructs any person in his endeavours to save the life of any<br />

person so situated;<br />

is guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for<br />

life, with or without solitary confinement.
