seamen, or unlawfully attempts to remove, deface, or render invisible,<br />

any such thing, is guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with<br />

hard labour for seven years, with or without solitary confinement.<br />

s. Any person who-<br />

or materials used for securing a bank or wall of the sea, or<br />

of a river, canal, aqueduct, reservoir, or inland water, or for<br />

securing any work which appertains to a port, harbour, dock,<br />

canal, aqueduct, reservoir, or inland water, or which is used<br />

for purposes of navigation or lading or unlading goods; or<br />

(2) awfully does any act with intent to obstruct the carrying<br />

on, completion, or maintenance of tbe navigation of a<br />

navigable river or canal, and thereby obstructs such carrying<br />

on, completion, or maintenance;<br />

is guilty of a crime, and is liable to ~prisonment with hard labour for<br />

seven years, with or without solitary confinment.<br />

wilfully and unlawfully causes, or is concerned in causing, or attempts to<br />

cause, any infectious disease to be communicated to or among any animal<br />

or animals capable of being stolen, is guilty of a crime, and is liable to<br />

has been lawfully erected or made as an indication of the boundary of<br />

any land is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment with<br />

479. Arrest ~~~~o m~ant, Any person suspected of committing<br />

any of the misdemeanours defined in this chapter may be arrested without<br />

warrant by a police officer. Moreover any person found committing any<br />

of the misdemeanours so defined may be arrested without warrant by the<br />

owner of the property injured or his servant, or by any person authorised<br />

by such owner or servant.<br />
