which has been sealed up under the provisions of the laws relating to<br />

elections, is guilty of a misd~meanour, and is liable to imprisonment with<br />

hard labour for two years.<br />

Neither this section nor section one hundred and fourteen hereof<br />

shall apply with respect to a member of the police force acting under<br />

lawful authority in the course of his official duty.<br />

As amended by Elections <strong>Act</strong>s and <strong>Criminal</strong> <strong>Code</strong> Amendment <strong>Act</strong> of 1952,<br />

an election at which the voting is by post-<br />

(1 ) Knowing that he is not entitled to vote at the election, signs<br />

his name as a voter to a voting-paper; or<br />

(2) Signs the name of another person to a voting-paper; or<br />

(3) Attests the signature to a voting-paper of any person who<br />

is, to his knowledge, not entitled to vote by means of such<br />

voting-paper ;<br />

is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for one year<br />

or to a fine of four hundred dollars.<br />

Decimal currency reference substituted pursuant to section 7 of Decimal<br />

Currency <strong>Act</strong> of 1965.<br />

7. Fa S. Any person who-<br />

(1) Makes in a claim to be inserted in a list of electors any<br />

statement which is, to his knowledge, false in any material<br />

particular; or<br />

(2) Makes, orally or in writing, to a court or tribunal having<br />

jurisdiction to deal with the claims of persons to be<br />

registered as electors or as persons claiming to be electors,<br />

a statement relating to the qualification of any person as an<br />

elector which is, to his knowledge, false in any material<br />

particular;<br />

3s guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for<br />

seven years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> offender cannot be arrested without warrant.<br />

A person cannot be convicted of either of the offences defined in<br />

this section upon the uncorroborated t~stimo~y of one witness.<br />

CHAPTER xv - SELLING AND TRAFFICKING IN<br />

lk Service. Any person who-<br />

(1) Corruptly asks, receives, or obtains, or agrees or attempts<br />

to receive or obtain, any property or benefit of any kind<br />

for himself or any other person on account of anything<br />

already done or omitted to be done, or to be afterwards<br />

done or omitted to be done, by him or any other person,<br />

with regard to the appointment or contemplated appointment<br />

of any person to any office or employment in the Public<br />

Service, or with regard to any application by any person for<br />

employment in the Public Service; or
