NO. 172.-ADULTERATION OF BEVERAGES.<br />

Section 241.<br />

Being a public brewer [or Being a maker] of a liquor intended to be used a8<br />

a beverage for man, namely, beer (or as the ewe may be).<br />

(a) used in the brewing [or making] of the liquor a deleterious [or poisonous]<br />

substance, namely, cocculus indieus (or as the case may be);<br />

or (5) put Lor mixed] a deleterious [or poisonous] substance, namely, COCCU~US<br />

indicus (or as the case may be), into [or with] the said liquor.<br />

NO. 173.-FRAUDS ON LAND LAWS.<br />

Section 242.<br />

For the purpose of acquiring land from our said Lady the Queen<br />

(a) fraudulently evaded [or attempted to evade] the grovisions of “<strong>The</strong> Land<br />

<strong>Act</strong>, 1897,” relating to the fulfilnient of conditions in respect of agricultural farms<br />

(or as the case may be) by procuring one M.N. to occupy an agricultural farm,<br />

namely, number (describe the farm suficiently to identify it), of which he the said<br />

A.B. was lessee, and representing the said M.N. to be his actual agent for the<br />

purpose of the use and occupation of the said farm: Whereas the said M.N. was<br />

not such agent, but used and occupied the said farm for his own benefit only (or<br />

as the case may be, describe briefly the evasion or attempted evasion);<br />

or (b) fraudulently procured one M.N. to btxome the lessee of an agricultural<br />

farm under the provisions of “<strong>The</strong> Land <strong>Act</strong>, 1897,” for his use and benefit;<br />

or (c) fraudulently attempted to evade the provisions of “<strong>The</strong> Land <strong>Act</strong>, 1897,”<br />

by applying for an agricultural homestead under the name of X.Y., when he was<br />

already the holder of an agricultural homestead under the said <strong>Act</strong> under his true<br />

name of A.B.<br />

KO, 174.-DEALING WITH LAND FRAUDULENTLY ACQUIRED PROM<br />

THE CROWN.<br />

Section 243.<br />

Bought [or Took on lease for ten years] from one M.N. a piece of land, namely<br />

(describe it sufioiently to identify it), which had then lately been acquired by the<br />

said M.N. by means of a fraudulent evasion of the provisions of <strong>The</strong> Land <strong>Act</strong>,<br />

1897,” namely by (describe bviefly the fraud): And that the said A.B. then knew<br />

that the same had been so acquired by such fraudulent evasion.<br />

NO. 175.-FXAUDTILENT DESTRUCTION OR REMO’JAL OF GOODS<br />

LIABLE TO DUTY.<br />

Section 244.<br />
