CHAPTER XXIV-OFFENCES AGAINST PUBLIC HEALTH<br />

. Any person who,<br />

being the master or medical officer g from beyond sea,<br />

neglects or refuses lo give to any officer employed in the Public Service<br />

any information whicln he is required by law to give to him, or gives to<br />

any such officer, either verbally or in writing, any information, touching<br />

any matter as to which he is required by law to give him information,<br />

which information is, to his knowledge, false in any ma~er~al particular,<br />

is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment with hard<br />

labour for two years, and to a fine of six hundred dollars.<br />

Currency <strong>Act</strong> of 1965.<br />

. Any person who knowingly<br />

r has in his possession with intent<br />

lo sell it for the food of man, any article which he linows to be unfit<br />

for the food of man, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment<br />

with hard labour for two years.<br />

2 eat. Any person who-<br />

s into a slaughter house used for the slaughter<br />

of any animals intended for the food of man the whole or<br />

any part of the carcass of any animal which has died of any<br />

disease; or<br />

(2) Knowingly sells or exposes for sale the whole or part of the<br />

carcass of any animal which has died of any disease or which<br />

was diseased when slaughtered;<br />

is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprison~ent with hard<br />

labour for two years.<br />

or poisonous substance into any<br />

spirituous or fermented liquor, or mixes any such substance<br />

with any such liquor; or<br />

(2) Sells or otherwise disposes of, or keeps for sale, any spirituous<br />

or fermented liquor into which any such substance has been<br />

put, or with which any such substance has been mixed;<br />

is guilty of a misde~eano~r, and is liable on conviction to imprisonment<br />

with hard labour for two years, or to a fine of four hundred dollars.<br />

es, Any person who, being a public brewer or<br />

maker of any liquor intended to be used as a beverage for man-<br />

(1) Uses in the brewing or making of the liquor any deleterious<br />

or poisonous substance; or<br />

(2) Buts any such substance into, or mixes any such substance<br />

with, the liquor, whether before or after the brewing or<br />

making is complete;<br />

is guilty of an offence, and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of<br />

four hundred dollars and to forfeiture of the liquor.<br />

If the offender, before committing the offence, had been previously<br />

convicted of any such offence, he is guilty of a ~sdemeanour~ and is<br />

liable to imprisonment for two years, as well as to forfeiture of the<br />

liquor.<br />
