CRIMINAL CODE SS. 200-206 79<br />

200. Refusal by Public Officer to Perform Duty. Any person who, being<br />

employed in the Public Service, or as an officer of any court or tribunal,<br />

perversely and without lawful excuse omits or refuses to do any act which<br />

it is his duty to do by virtue of his employment is guilty of a misdemeanour,<br />

and is liable to imprisonment for two years, and to be fined at the<br />

discretion of the Court.<br />

2011. Neglect of Officers to Suppress ot. Any person who, being a<br />

sheriff, under sheriff, justice, mayor, or police officer, and having notice<br />

that there is a riot in his neighbourhood, without reasonable excuse omits<br />

to do his duty in suppressing such riot, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is<br />

liable to imprisonment for two years.<br />

202. Neglect to aid in Suppressing iot. Any person who, having reason-<br />

able notice that he is required to ist any sheriff, under sheriff, justice,<br />

mayor, or police officer, in suppressing a riot, without reasonable excuse<br />

omits to do so, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment<br />

for one year.<br />

203. Neglect to Aid in Arresting Offenders. Any person who, having<br />

reasonable notice that he is required to assist any sheriff, under sheriff,<br />

justice, mayor, or police officer, in arresting any person, or in preserving<br />

the peace without reasonable excuse omits to do so, is guilty of a<br />

misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for one year.<br />

4. Disobe&ense to Statute Law. Any person who without lawful<br />

excuse, the proof of which lies on him, does any act which he is,<br />

by the provisions of any Public Statute in force in <strong>Queensland</strong>, forbidden<br />

to do, or omits to do any act which he is, by the provisions of any such<br />

Statute, required to do, is guilty of a misdemeanour, unless some mode<br />

of proceeding against him for such disobedience is expressly provided by<br />

Statute, and is intended to be exclusive of all other punishment.<br />
