of aircraft. If it appears to the person in command of<br />

an aircraft that there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that any<br />

offence involving the safety of the aircraft has been is being is about to be<br />

or may be committed on board or in relation to the aircraft it shall<br />

be lawful for him and for any person acting by his authority with such<br />

assistance as he or such person may think necessary to search or cause<br />

to be searched-<br />

(a) <strong>The</strong> aircraft and any person luggage and freight on board<br />

the aircraft; and<br />

(b) Any person who is about to board the aircraft and any<br />

luggage or freight that is about to be placed on board the<br />

aircraft,<br />

and seize-<br />

(i) Anything whether animate or inanimate and whether living<br />

or dead as to which there are reasonable grounds for<br />

believing that it will of itself or by or on scientific examina-<br />

tion, afford evidence as to the commission of any offence; or<br />

(ii) Anything as to which there are reasonable grounds for<br />

believing that it is intended to be used for the purpose of<br />

colmmitting any offence;<br />

and take it before a justice to be dealt with according to law.<br />

A female shall not be searched under this section except by a female.<br />

im1~. (1) If it appears to a police officer that there are reasonable<br />

grounds for suspecting that any offence relating to any of the following<br />

things, that is to say, a horse, mare, gelding, ass, mule, camel, bull, cow,<br />

ox, ram, ewe, wether, golat or pig, or the young of any such animal,<br />

has been, is being, is about to be or may be committed on or in relation to<br />

any holding, the police officer may, with such assistants, animals, vehicles<br />

and equipment as he considers necessary for the purpose-<br />

(a) enter upon and leave as often as he considers necesary the<br />

holding;<br />

(b) search for and inspect any such animals or their young,<br />

brand, mark, branding instrument or pliers and, in the<br />

case of any such animals or their young travelling, stop them<br />

and, for tho purpose of exercising any of the powers conferred<br />

by this paragraph, stop any vehicle or vessel;<br />

(e) muster, yard, detain, clip and otherwise deal ~ t any h such<br />

animals or their young when he considers it necessary in<br />

the proper carrying out of his investigations so to do;<br />

(d) seize and detain any such animals or their young in respect<br />

of which he suspects on reasonable grounds that the olwner<br />

or person in charge has committed or is committing an<br />

offence as aforesaid;<br />

(e) seize and detain any other thing in respect of which he<br />

suspects on reasonabls grounds that an offence as aforesaid<br />

has been or is being committed by any person, whether known<br />

to the police officer OT not;<br />

(f) use such force as is reasonably necessary to exercise any<br />

of the aforesaid powers.
