194. Fake Declarations and § ~ ~ Any ~ person ~ who, ~ on n any ~ occasion, ,<br />

on which he is permitted or required by law to make a statement or<br />

declaration before any person authorised by law to permit it to be made<br />

before him, makes a statement or declaration before that person which,<br />

in any material particular, is to his knowledge false, is guilty of a<br />

misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for three<br />

years.<br />

195. ~ v ~ ~ A ~ person ~ € e cannot , be convicted of any of the offences<br />

defined in the two last preceding sections upon the uncorroborated testimony<br />

of one witness.<br />

(1) Assaults or obstructs an officer of Customs, or any person<br />

duly employed for the prevention of smuggling, while engaged<br />

in the execution of his duty under any law relating to the<br />

Customs, or in the seizure of any goods claimed to be liable<br />

to forfeiture under any such law, or any person acting in<br />

aid of any such officer or person while so engaged; or<br />

(2) Rescues or attempts to rescue any goods which have been<br />

seized under any such law; or<br />

(3) Before, at, or after, the seizure of any goods under any<br />

such law, staves, breaks, or destroys, the goods with intent<br />

to prevent the seizure or the securing of the goods, or attempts<br />

to do any such act;<br />

is guilty of an offence, and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of<br />

two hundred dollars.<br />

Currency <strong>Act</strong> of 1965.<br />

esbsthg Public Oficers. Any person who in any manner obstructs<br />

or resists any public officer while engaged in the discharge or attempted<br />

discharge of the duties of his office under any Statute, or obstructs or<br />

resists any person while engaged in the discharge or attempted discharge<br />

of any duty imposed on him by any S,tatute, is guilty of a misdemeanour,<br />

and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for two years.
