(3) Assaults, or, upon or under the pretence of executing any<br />

civil process, arrests, any minister of religion who is engaged<br />

in, or is, to the knowledge of the offender, about to engage in,<br />

any of the offices or duties aforesaid, or who is, to the<br />

knowledge of the offender, going to perform the same or<br />

returning from the performance thereof;<br />

is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to im~risonment with’hard<br />

labour for two years.<br />

2 OBES . Any person who wilfully and without<br />

lawful justification or excuse, the proof of whicb lies on him, disquiets<br />

or disturbs any meeting of persons lawfully assembled for religious<br />

worship, or assaults any person lawfully offfciating at any such meeting, or<br />

any of the persons there assembled, is guilty of an offence, and is liable<br />

on summa~y conv~ction to imprisonment for two months, or to a fine of<br />

ten dollars.<br />

CHAPTER XXPI-OFF ENCES AGAINST<br />

ces. Asly person who-<br />

(1) Has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of<br />

nature; or<br />

as carnal knowledge of an animal; or<br />

(3) Permits a inale person to have carnal knowledge of him or<br />

her against the order of nature;<br />

is guilty sf a crime, and is liable to in~~r~son~~nt with hard labour for<br />

fourteen years.<br />

.A ral ces. Any person who attempts<br />

to co~mamit any of the crimes defined in the last preceding section is guilty<br />

of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for seven<br />

years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> offender cannot be arrested without warrant.<br />

Any person who<br />

u~law€L~ll~ and indecently deals with a boy under the age of seventeen<br />

years is guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour<br />

for five years.<br />

If the boy is under the age of fourteen years, he is liable to imprisonment<br />

with hard labour far seven years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> term “deal with’, includes doing any act which, if done without<br />

consent, would constitute an assault as hereinafter defined.<br />

es. Any male person who, whether<br />

in public or private, commits any act of gross indecency with another<br />

male person, or procures another male person to commit any act of gross<br />

indecency with him, or attempts to procure the commission of any such<br />

act by any male person with himself or with another male person, whether<br />

in public or private, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprison-<br />

ment with hard labour for three years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> offender may be arrested without warrant.<br />
