liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding four dollars and<br />

not less than one dollar for every such counterfeit coin found in his<br />

possession, and to forfeiture of the counterfeit coin, which is to be<br />

destroyed by order of the justices.<br />

In default of immediate payment of the fine, he is liable to imprison-<br />

ment with hard labour for three months, unless the fine is sooner paid.<br />

Decimal currency references substituted pursuant to section 7 of Decimal<br />

Currency <strong>Act</strong> of 1965.<br />

Any person who utters any current coin which is defaced by the stamping<br />

of any name or word thereon is guilty of an offence, and is liable an<br />

summa^ conviction to a fine of four dollars.<br />

A prosecution for any such offence cannot be commenced without<br />

the consent of a Crown Law Officer.<br />

A tender of payment in money made in any coin so defaced is not a<br />

legal tender.<br />

person who, being charged, by virtue of his employment, or by virtue of<br />

any contract, with the delivery of anything sent by post or telegraph,<br />

wilfully delivers it to a person other than the person to whom it is<br />

addressed, or his authorised agent in that behalf, is guilty of a misdemeanour,<br />

and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for three<br />

years.<br />

168. ng Letters by False Bre nces. Any person who by means ob<br />

any false pretence induces any person employed by or under the Post<br />

and Telegraph Department to deliver to him anything sent by post or<br />

telegraph which is not addressed to him, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and<br />

is liable on conviction to imprisonment for two years.
