Was employed in tho Public Service of Qcieensland as a clerk (or as the case<br />

may be), and by virtue of such employment it was his duty [or he was enabled] to<br />

furnish jeturns [or statements] touching the remuneration [claimed to be] payable<br />

to himself [or to one M.N.] [or touching the due performance of certain work<br />

(or as the case may be) required by law to be certified for the purpose of a payment<br />

of money (01. of the delivery of certain goods) to one M.N,]: And that the said<br />

A.B. thereupon mado a return [or statement] touching the matter aforesaid which<br />

was to his knowledge false, in this that he thereby returned [or stated] that (&e.,<br />

stu.te the false statement) whereas in fact (state the truth): which false Ytateinent<br />

WIS material to the question of the right of the said A.B. [or M.N.] to receive the<br />
