KO. 298.-PROCURING EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS BY FALSE<br />

PRETENCES.<br />

Section 492.<br />

By falsely and fraudulently representing to one E.F. that a document then<br />

shown to him was a receipt for money, whereas in fact it was a promissory note<br />

[or was a bill of mortgage, whereas in fact it was a transfer of land (or as the case<br />

way be)], procured the said E.F. to sign [or execute] the said document.<br />

N 0. ~~~.-OBIIITERATING CROSSINGS ON CHEQUES.<br />

Section 493.<br />

(1.) Obliterated [or Added to or Altered] the crossing on a crossed cheque<br />

drawn by one E.F., with intent thereby then to defraud.<br />

(2.) Knowingly uttered R crossed cheque on which the crossing had been<br />

obliterated [or added to or altered], with intent thereby then to defraud.<br />

Section 494.<br />

(1.) Without lawful authority or excuse made [or signed or executed] for [or<br />

in the name of or on account of] one E.F., a document purporting to be a<br />

promissory note (or as the case may be) [or a writing purportiug to be (46. as<br />

the case may be)], with intent thereby then to defraud.<br />

(2.) Knowingly uttered a document [or writing] purporting to be (46. as<br />

above), which had been made for signed or executed] by one M.N. for [or in the<br />

name of or on account of] one E.F. without lawful authority or excuse, with intent<br />

thereby then to defraud.<br />

NO. 301.-DEMANDING PROPERTY UPON FORGED TESTAMENTARY<br />

INSTRUMENTS.<br />

Section 495.<br />

Procured the delivery [or payment] to himself [or to one M.N.] of a horse<br />

[or $2,000 (or as the case may be)] by virtue of a probate [or letters of aclministra-<br />

tion] which had been granted upon a forged will Lor codicil] purporting to be the<br />

will of one E.F. [or which had been granted upon a will (or codicil) purporting to<br />

be the will of one E.F., and which had been obtained by false evidence], as the<br />

said A.B. then well knew.<br />

NO. 302.--PURCHASING FORGED BANK NOTES.<br />

Seetion 496.<br />

Purchased [or Received] from one M.N. [or from a person to the said Attorney-<br />

General (or J.J.K.) unknown1 [or Had in his possession] without lawful authority<br />

or excuse a forged bank note purporting to be issued by the X.Y. Banking<br />

Company, Limited: And that the said A.B. then knew that the same was forged.<br />

Section 497.<br />

Knowingly signed upon a document purporting to be a copy of a writ of capias<br />

(U?* (15 the case may be) the contents whereof had been received by telegraph under<br />

the prollsions of the laws acthorising the transmission by telegraph of documents<br />

requiring signature or seal a false certificate that it had been received under the<br />

provisions of the aforesaid laws, whereas it had not been so received. as the said<br />

A.B. then well kliaw.<br />

NO. 304.-FALSIFYING WARRANTS FOR MONEY PAYABLE UNDER<br />

PUBLIC AUTHORITY.<br />

Section 498.<br />

Being then employed in the Public Service of <strong>Queensland</strong>, knowingly made out<br />

[or delivered to one M.N.] a warrant for the payment to one M.W. [or to him]<br />

of the sum of $ , as being money payable to the said M.N. by public authority,<br />

whereas the sum to which the said M.N. was then entitled was $ , as the said<br />

A.B. then well knew, with intent thereby then to defraud.
