NO. 188.-STUPEFYING IN ORDER TO COMMIT INDICTABLE<br />

OFFENCE.<br />

Section 316.<br />

With intent to commit [or to facilitate the commission of] an indictable<br />

offence [or with intent to facilitate his flight (or the flight of one M.N. (or of a<br />

person to the said Attorney-General (or J.J.K.) unknown) ) after the commissioii<br />

(or attempted commission) by him of an indictable offence, namely, robbery (or as<br />

the case may be)] administered [or attempted to administer] to one E.F. a<br />

stupefying [or overpowering] drug [or vapour (or as the case may be)], namely,<br />

chloroform (or as the case may be).<br />

XO. 189.-ACTS INTENDED TO CAUSE GRIEITOUS BODILY HARM 01%<br />

PREVENT APPREHENSION.<br />

Section 317.<br />

With intent to maim [or disfigure or disable or do some grievous bodily harm<br />

to] one E.P. [or With intent to resist (or prevent) his lawful arrest (or detention)<br />

or With intent to resist (or prevent) the lawful arrest (or detention) of one M.N.<br />

(or a person to the said Attorney-General (or J.J.K.) unknown)].<br />

(a) unlawfully wounded [or did grievous bodily harm to] the said E.F. [or one<br />

G.I-E.] ;<br />

or (b) unlawfully attempted to strike the said E.F. [or one G.H.] with a<br />

projectile, namely, a bullet (or as the case may be);<br />

or (0) unlawfully caused an explosive substance, namely, dynamite (or as the<br />

case n2a.y be) to explode;<br />

or (d) sent [or delivered] to the said E.F. [or to one G.E.] an explosive sub<br />

stance or a dangerous (or noxious) thing], iiamely, an explos'ive bomb (or as the<br />

case muy be) ;<br />

or (e) caused the said E.F. [or one G.H.] to take [or receive] a dangerous [or<br />

noxious] thing [or an explosive substance], namely, sulphuric acid (or as the cast'<br />

may be);<br />

or (f) put a corrosive fluid [or a desbuctive (or explosive) substance], namely,<br />

sulphuric acid (or as the case may be), in a public highway [or in a bag used bg<br />

the said E.F. (or as the case may be)] ;<br />

(9) unlawfully cast [or threw] at [or nnlawf-lly applied to the person of the<br />

said E.P. (or one G.H.)] a corrosive fluid (@e. as in (f)).<br />

NO. I90.-PREVENTING ESCAPE FROM WRECK.<br />

Section 318.<br />

(1.) Unlawfully prevented [or obstructed] one E.F. [or a. person to the said<br />

Attorney-General (or J.J.K.) unknown/, who was then on board of [or who was<br />

then escaping from] a vessel in distress [or a wrecked vessel or h vessel cast ashorel,<br />

in his endeavours to save his life.<br />

(2.) UnlawfClIy obstructed one E.F. in his endeavours to save the life of one<br />

G.H. (or &e. as in (l)), who was then on board of [or who was then escaping from]<br />

a vessel in distress [or a wrecked vessel or a vessel east ashore].<br />

KO. 191.-INTENTIONALLY ENDANGERING SAFETY OF PEBSOXS<br />

TRAVELLING BY RAILWAY.<br />

Section 319.<br />

With intent to injure [or to endanger the safety of] persons travelling by a<br />

railway<br />

(a) removed [or loosened] a rail (or as the case may be) belonging to the said<br />

railway [or-placed a log of wood (or as the case m y be) upon (or across) the said<br />

railway or loosened a large quantity of earth aad rock near and above the said<br />

r*dway or moved (or diverted) certain points belonging to the mitin railway (or as<br />

the case may be, describe the act done)], whereby the free md safe use of the $aid<br />

railway [or the safety of the persons uging the said railway] was affectell [or<br />

endangered] ;<br />

or (b) showed a light [or signal] [or extinguished (or rendered invisible or<br />

removed (or as the case may be)) an exlwting light (or signal)] upon [or near] the<br />

said railway;<br />

(c) omitted to show a signal which it was his duty to show (or as the cme<br />

mag be), and thereby caused the safety of persons travelling by the said railway<br />

to be endangered.
