A person cannot refuse to give evidence upon a charge of any of<br />

the offences defined in this section on the ground that he is liable to<br />

punishment under the provisions thereof, but every person who gives<br />

evidence on any such charge is indemnified against any prosecution<br />

against himself for having offended in the matter with respect to which<br />

he gives evidence.<br />

<strong>The</strong> action of persons who merely agree together to fix the rate<br />

of wages or prices which they will pay or accept for any work or article,<br />

or to fix the hours during which they will work in, or carry on, any<br />

manufacture, trade, or business, in which they are engaged, or who<br />

merely meet together and consult for the purpose of making any such<br />

agreement, is not deemed to be a physical act for the purposes of this<br />

section.<br />
