to set fire to any such thing as is mentioned in the last Preceding<br />

section is guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonm~nt with hard<br />

labour for seven years, with or without solitary confinement.<br />

$65. ~ a$t~~g away S ips. Any person who-<br />

(1) Wilfully and unlawfully casts away 0r destroys any vessel,<br />

whether complete or not; or<br />

(2) Wilfully and unlawfully does any act which tends to the<br />

immediate loss or destruction of a vessel in distress; or<br />

(3) With intent to bring a vessel into danger interferes with any<br />

light, beacon, mark, or signal, used for purposes of navigation,<br />

or for the guidance of seamen, or exhibits any false light<br />

or signal;<br />

is guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for<br />

life, with or without solitary Confinement, and with or without w~~ping.<br />

to cast away or destroy a vessel, whether completed or not, or attempts<br />

unlawfully to do any act tending to the immediate loss or destruction of a<br />

vessel in distress, is guilty of a crime, and is liable to ~~risonment witla<br />

hard labour for fourteen years, with or without solitary c ~n~neme~~, and<br />

with or without whipping.<br />

a railway-<br />

(I) Deals with the railway, or with anything whatever<br />

near the railway in such a manner as to affect or<br />

the free and safe use of the railway; or<br />

(2) Shows any light or signal, or in any way deals with any<br />

existing light or signal, upon or near the railway; or<br />

(3) By any omission to do any act which it is his duty to do<br />

causes the free and safe use of the railway to be endangered;<br />

is guilty of a crime, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for<br />

life, with or without whipping, which may be inflicted once, twice, or<br />

thrice.<br />

to prejudice the safe use of an aircraft or to injure any property<br />

upon an aircraft-<br />

(a> Deals with the aircraft or with anything whatever up011 or<br />

Gear the aircraft or with anything whatever either<br />

operation of the aircraft in such a manner as to<br />

endanger the free and safe use of the aircraft; or<br />

(b) By any omission to do any act which it is his duty to do<br />

causes the free and safe use of the aircraft to be e ~~an~ere~,<br />

is guilty of a crime and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for life.<br />

(2) Any person who while on board an aircra€t wilfully $5<br />

act or makes any omission or is privy to any act or omission w<br />

to his knowledge the safety of the aircraft is or is likely to be cndangexed<br />

is guilty of a crime and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for<br />

seven years.<br />
