Divisions<br />

Administration - The Administration Division is responsible for the overall coordination <strong>of</strong> the<br />

department’s activities and performance in relation to the organization.<br />

Building Safety - The Building Safety Division reviews, approves, and inspects new<br />

developments, tenant improvements, and restorations.<br />

Code Enforcement - The Code Enforcement Division is charged with ensuring the health and safety<br />

<strong>of</strong> residents as it relates to property maintenance and zoning regulations.<br />

These activities are completed through education and enforcement.<br />

Development Services - The Development Services Division provides a single point <strong>of</strong> contact for city<br />

services to the customer so they may complete their development project in a<br />

faster, more cost efficient manner.<br />

Economic Development - The Economic Development Division provides services for business attraction,<br />

retention, and expansion. The division also provides small business assistance<br />

and administers the city’s business innovation center, the AZ TechCelerator.<br />

The Economic Development Division was shown as a separate department in<br />

fiscal year 2010.<br />
