<strong>City</strong> Court<br />

MFTG Fund<br />

Fund Description<br />

The <strong>Surprise</strong> <strong>City</strong> Court receives funds from the State <strong>of</strong> Arizona pursuant to the Municipal Fill the Gap<br />

Fund (MFTG) program established by A.R.S § 41-2421(J)(6) and (K). In September 2010, a new special<br />

revenue fund was established to manage these funds. Municipal courts may use these funds to improve,<br />

maintain, and enhance the ability to collect and manage monies assessed or received by the courts, to<br />

improve court automation, and to improve case processing or the administration <strong>of</strong> justice.<br />

Major <strong>Budget</strong> Changes<br />

The <strong>FY2014</strong> budget decreased 66% over the FY2013 budget. There are no planned expenditures. Fund<br />

balance and remaining available revenue is programmed as contingency at $20,200.<br />
