UASI Urban Areas Security Initiative - UASI provides funding support for targethardening
activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of
terrorist attack and are located within one of the specific UASI-eligible
Urban Areas.
UCR Uniform Crime Reports – The UCR are official data on crime in the United
States, published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. UCR is a a
nationwide, cooperative statistical effort of nearly 18,000 city, university and
college, county, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies
voluntarily reporting data on crimes brought to their attention.
USTA United States Tennis Association – The USTA is the national governing
body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and
developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local
communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.
VFD Variable Frequency Drive - a type of adjustable-speed drive used in electromechanical
drive systems to control alternating current motor speed and
torque by varying motor input frequency and voltage.
WRF Water Reclamation Facility – A facility that utilizes processes to separate,
modify, remove, and destroy objectionable, hazardous, and pathogenic
substances carried by wastewater in solution or suspension in order to
render the water fit and safe for intended uses.
WSF Water Supply Facility - A facility that provides a source of water for drinking,
irrigation, commercial, and industrial uses in a quantity and quality that
meets or exceeds standards.
