forecast for future years is based on population and revenue per capita. State shared sales tax is distributed based on population. The 2010
census resulted in increased revenues beginning in FY2012 as the city share of total population increased.

Description
State shared revenues are distributed to cities and towns based generally on the population at the last census or special census. Included in
this category is the Highway Users Revenue Fund (HURF). This revenue source consists of state taxes collected on gasoline, vehicle
licenses, and a number of other additional transportation related fees. These funds must be used for street and highway purposes. These
revenues are recorded in the city's HURF.
