Question 16.b. asked, more broadly, "If applicable,<br />

how do you see the university arts and sciences courses<br />

supporting your task?" I thought the "if applicable"<br />

phrase would prevent those outside a university setting<br />

from responding to this question. In actual fact, a<br />

large number outside that setting indicated the benefit<br />

of education in the arts and sciences. This increased<br />

the value of responses to this question, by allowing me<br />

to compare those who saw particular value in a broader<br />

education with those who did not mention an interest in<br />

students' background in the arts and sciences.<br />
