others. Reviews collective wisdom found in the<br />

classic works of western philosophy, history,<br />

biography and drama. Prerequisite: Junior status<br />

or permission of instructor.<br />

Planning, scientific investigation, conclusions and<br />

recommendations used in solving marketing<br />

problems. Topics include survey techniques,<br />

observation techniques, experimentation, data<br />

tabulation and interpretation of results. Prerequisites:<br />

Concentrates on individual processes, inter-personal<br />

of interest rates. Prerequisite: ECON 307.<br />

Explores the impact of cultural diversity on personal<br />

and organizational effectiveness from a<br />

leadership and management perspective.<br />

Examines the importance of appreciation for cultural<br />

diversity for the global manager.<br />

Decision-Making<br />

Problem solving in finance; relationship of financial<br />

management to the direction of the enterprise<br />

as a whole; case methods on how shareholder<br />

requirements determine policy on acquisition of<br />

new funds; funds flow and capital investment<br />

within the firm; and effect of social, regulatory<br />

and monetary environment on policy. Special<br />

emphasis on importance of long-range planning<br />

and the contribution of financial analysis to decision-making.<br />

BUS 341. Internship in Business 3–6 credits<br />

Competitive placement with selected businesses<br />

and non-profit agencies. Prerequisite: Junior or<br />
