completion of the two-year program.<br />

Transfer <strong>St</strong>udents<br />

Undergraduate transfer students from other colleges<br />

and universities can apply for admission to<br />

<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Ambrose</strong> <strong>University</strong> and the Master of<br />

Orthotic Science program. <strong>St</strong>udents must be<br />

<strong>admit</strong>ted to the <strong>University</strong> and also to the Master<br />

of Orthotic Science program. Admission to <strong>St</strong>.<br />

<strong>Ambrose</strong> <strong>University</strong> does not guarantee advancement<br />

into the MOS program.<br />

Transfer students should submit copies of all<br />

transcripts to the MOS Department. A photocopied<br />

catalog description of all transferred support<br />

courses must be submitted along with the<br />

application form. These transcripts are necessary<br />

to determine admission and placement.<br />

Transcripts must be received by the application<br />

deadline.<br />

International Transfer <strong>St</strong>udents<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents who have attained their education outside<br />

the United <strong>St</strong>ates may apply to the Master of<br />

Orthotic Science program. However, foreign-educated<br />

students who have received their baccalaureate<br />

education in a foreign country must have<br />

their education evaluated by the World<br />

Education Services (WES), P.O. Box 745, Old<br />

Chelsea <strong>St</strong>ation, NY 10013-6311. WES is a professional<br />

education evaluation service that<br />

equates foreign education to programs in the<br />

United <strong>St</strong>ates. Additional questions regarding this<br />

Admission Procedures<br />

The Master of Orthotic Science program accepts<br />

applications from two types of educational pathways:<br />

applicants who have not yet earned their<br />

undergraduate degree and those who have earned<br />

their undergraduate degree. <strong>St</strong>udents who do not<br />

anticipate obtaining their undergraduate degree<br />

when applying must be <strong>admit</strong>ted to the<br />

<strong>University</strong> and also to the MOS program.<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents who have already obtained their<br />

undergraduate degree or anticipate completing it<br />

prior to admission into the MOS program may<br />

apply directly to the MOS program.<br />

The following additional steps must be completed<br />

by applicants:<br />

1. Complete an official SAU Graduate <strong>St</strong>udies<br />

application form.<br />

2. Complete an official MOS program application.<br />

3. Pay the $25 application fee.<br />

4. Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of<br />

2.8 (on a 4.0 scale) or a minimum cumulative<br />

graduate GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for 18 or<br />

more semester hours in an approved graduate<br />

science degree program. Contact the department<br />

office regarding acceptable graduate<br />

courses.<br />

5. A grade of “C” or above must be attained for<br />

all prerequisites prior to entering the first<br />

semester of the MOS program at SAU.<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8<br />

or higher on a 4.0 scale. Please note that the<br />

applicant is responsible for contacting the<br />

SAU Department of Orthotic Science for latest<br />

updates on prerequisites.<br />

6. At the time of application and enrollment,<br />

applicants must have a minimum “computed”<br />

grade point average of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale). A<br />

computed GPA is determined by the student’s<br />

cumulative GPA, and GPA in orthotic science<br />

prerequisite courses (specific information is<br />

available in the Department of Orthotic<br />

Science office).<br />

7. <strong>St</strong>udents must submit sealed official tran-<br />
