MBA 772. Advanced Marketing<br />

Research<br />

3 credits<br />

This course covers the research process including<br />

problem identification to preparation of the market<br />

research report and includes project design,<br />

data collection and data analysis and interpretation.<br />

The role and scope of marketing research in<br />

marketing management will be covered through<br />

case analysis and in-class projects. A market<br />

research report is required. Prerequisites: MBA<br />

505 and MBA 680.<br />

MBA 773. <strong>St</strong>rategic Marketing<br />

Decision Making<br />

3 credits<br />

The pivotal role of strategic marketing in business<br />

performance is demonstrated in the marketdriven<br />

strategies of successful organizations competing<br />

in a wide array of product and market situations.<br />

The escalating importance of providing<br />

customer satisfaction, responding to diversity in<br />

the marketplace, developing really new products,<br />

and recognizing global competition challenges<br />

require effective marketing strategies for gaining<br />

and keeping competitive advantage. The purpose<br />

of this course is to examine the concepts for gaining<br />

competitive advantage in the marketplace.<br />

We will use a combination of text, readings, case<br />

studies and projects to develop relevant concepts<br />

and their application to business situations.<br />

Prerequisites: MBA 680.<br />

MBA 774. Consumer Behavior 3 credits<br />

This course covers the ways in which consumers<br />

are motivated to action by marketers. Motivation<br />

theories will be discussed with respect to their<br />

relevance to marketing. Case studies will be used<br />

to demonstrate practical application to the subject<br />

material. A research paper is required.<br />

Prerequisites: MBA 680 or consent of the instructor.<br />

terminology, the rational data model, network<br />

and hierarchical database stems, algorithms<br />

for database design, and techniques of implementation.<br />

MBA 781. <strong>St</strong>ructured Systems Analysis 3 credits<br />

This course will allow the student to communicate<br />

with professional CIS Personnel, to gain<br />

experience in the computerization of business<br />

principles, to learn integrated structured techniques<br />

of problem solving for the user manager,<br />

and to understand terminals and database systems.<br />

Major topics will include detailed analysis<br />

and feasibility studies, systems design, system<br />

development, implementation and testing.<br />

Prerequisites: None.<br />

MBA 782. Decision Support Systems 3 credits<br />

This course will use current technology in decision<br />

making, the development of a Decision<br />

Support System and practical experience in the<br />

development of DSS. Major topics will include<br />

the framework of DSS, process of building a DSS,<br />

System Analysis Interface with DSS, integration<br />

of DSS within the organization, technology components<br />

for DSS, and the role of Database<br />

Management in DSS. Prerequisites: None.<br />

MBA 783. Data Communication 3 credits<br />

This course will give the student an appreciation<br />

for the scope of business and industry telecommunications,<br />

explain the basic principles that<br />

apply to the design of telecommunications and<br />

present methods for solving telecommunications<br />

problems. Major topics to be covered are fundamental<br />

concepts, transmission systems, software,<br />

hardware and overview of telecommunications<br />

industry. Prerequisites: None.<br />

Management Information Systems Concentration<br />

MBA 780 Database Management 3 credits<br />

This course introduces the fundamental concepts<br />

necessary for designing, using, and implementing<br />
