Graduate Curricula<br />

score of 950 based on this formula is required for<br />

fully <strong>admit</strong>ted status.<br />

Admission <strong>St</strong>atus<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents may be <strong>admit</strong>ted for the fall, spring, or<br />

summer semesters.<br />

1. Full Admission – the student’s file is complete.<br />

The College of Business Graduate Office must<br />

have received: an application with the nonrefundable<br />

application fee, official transcripts,<br />

and an official GMAT score not older than<br />

five (5) years. A minimum admission formula<br />

score of 950 points is required.<br />

2. Conditional or Probationary admission occurs<br />

when a student has an admission formula<br />

score below the minimum standard of 950<br />

points, or s/he falls below a composite score<br />

of 400 on the GMAT. These applications are<br />

reviewed for conditional status on a case-bycase<br />

basis by the MBA Admissions and<br />

Retention Committee. Admission decisions<br />

will take into consideration the student’s personal<br />

motivation to succeed.<br />

3. Provisional admission may be granted when<br />

the student’s file is incomplete. <strong>St</strong>udents must<br />

provide all missing information before the<br />

beginning of their second semester (or session)<br />

of classes or be dismissed from the program.<br />

4. Special <strong>St</strong>udent <strong>St</strong>atus – <strong>St</strong>udents may apply<br />

and register as a special student. Special students<br />

may take up to three (3) courses without<br />

taking the GMAT. Special students are<br />

required to follow regular application procedures<br />

(except for the GMAT).<br />

Application Procedures<br />

To apply for the MBA program, submit the following<br />

to the College of Business Graduate<br />

Office:<br />

1. A complete Application for Admission form<br />

with the non-refundable application fee.<br />

2. In order for the student to register for classes,<br />

the College of Business Graduate Office must<br />

receive evidence that the student has met the<br />

academic admission requirements of the program.<br />

Examples of evidence include student<br />

copies of transcripts or a copy of their degree<br />

diploma. Official transcripts must be on file<br />

before a student will be allowed to register for<br />

a second semester or session.<br />

3. An official GMAT score.<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents will not be allowed to register for<br />

more than a total of three (3) courses until the<br />

official GMAT score is received. Requests to<br />

waive this requirement due to extenuating circumstances<br />

must be reviewed by the Dean of the<br />

College of Business.<br />

In order to register for MBA 505 <strong>St</strong>atistical<br />

Methods for Decision Making, the student must<br />

have a GMAT quantitative score above the 35th<br />

percentile. If initially the score is below the 35th<br />

percentile there are two options the student can<br />

pursue to meet this requirement:<br />

a. retake the GMAT and receive a score above<br />

the 35th percentile, or<br />

b. take MBA 500 Mathematics for<br />

Management and Economics.<br />

Courses By Examination<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents who have developed a competency in<br />

Financial Accounting (MBA 506), Managerial<br />

Accounting (MBA 507) or Macroeconomics<br />

(MBA 526) may wish to seek equivalency credit<br />

through test-out, the equivalent to an end-ofcourse<br />

comprehensive final examination.<br />

The following process will be followed:<br />

1. To be eligible to test-out, the student must be<br />

proficient in the area that s/he seeks to testout.<br />

The student must submit a written<br />

request to the program director with a<br />

detailed explanation of the competency and<br />

how it was acquired. A $100 fee must be submitted<br />

along with the request. Note: if the<br />

request is not approved, the fee will be<br />

returned.<br />

2. The request is reviewed by faculty and<br />

approved or disapproved by the program<br />

director.<br />

3. If approved, the program director signs the<br />
