1.00 GENERAL
1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS
A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions
and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
1.02 SUMMARY
A. This Section includes metal ducts for supply, return, outside, and exhaust air-distribution systems
in pressure classes from minus 2- to plus 10-inch wg (minus 500 to plus 2500 Pa).
Metal ducts include the following:
1. Rectangular ducts and fittings.
1.03 DEFINITIONS
A. FRP: Fiberglass-reinforced plastic.
B. NUSIG: National Uniform Seismic Installation Guidelines.
1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Welding: Qualify procedures and personnel according to AWS D1.1, "Structural Welding
Code--Steel," for hangers and supports, AWS D1.2, "Structural Welding Code--Aluminum,"
for aluminum supporting members and AWS D9.1, "Sheet Metal Welding Code," for duct joint
and seam welding.
B. NFPA Compliance:
1. NFPA 90A, "Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems."
2. NFPA 90B, "Installation of Warm Air Heating and Air Conditioning Systems."

2.01 MANUFACTURERS
A. In other Part 2 articles where titles below introduce lists, the following requirements apply to
product selection:
1. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the
manufacturers specified.
2.02 SHEET METAL MATERIALS
A. Comply with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards--Metal and Flexible" for acceptable
materials, material thicknesses, and duct construction methods, unless otherwise
indicated. Sheet metal materials shall be free of pitting, seam marks, roller marks, stains,
discolorations, and other imperfections.
