1.00 GENERAL
1.01 WORK INCLUDED
Furnish labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to install outlet boxes. Electrical
work shall be in accordance with Section 26 05 00, COMMON WORK RESULTS FOR
ELECTRICAL.
1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE - ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS
Steel City Series 600
1.03 SUBMITTALS
No submittals required for Section 26 05 33.03, OUTLET BOXES.
1.04 STANDARDS
The applicable provisions of the following standards shall apply as if written here in their entirety:
ANSI/NEMA OS 1
ANSI/NEMA OS 2
Sheet steel outlet boxes, device boxes, covers and box supports.
Non-metallic outlet boxes, device boxes, covers and box supports.
2.00 PRODUCTS
2.01 MATERIALS
A. GENERAL: Furnish boxes with proper covers and device plates
B. CAST BOXES: Cast feralloy metal, deep type, gasketed cover, threaded hubs and integral
mounting lugs. Use cast boxes for damp and outdoor installation. Boxes shall be
manufactured by Crouse-Hinds, Appleton or approved equal.
3.00 EXECUTION
3.01 PREPARATION; COORDINATION OF BOX LOCATIONS
A. Provide electrical boxes in the locations shown on the Plans, and as required for splices, taps,
wire pulling, equipment connections, and code compliance.
B. Electrical box locations shown on Contract Drawings are approximate unless dimensioned.
Verify locations of boxes and outlets prior to rough-in. Outlet locations may be modified to
accommodate changes in door swings, space changes or to clear other interferences that
arise or from job modifications. Make such modifications at no cost to the OWNER as a
matter of job coordination. Coordinate job conditions and notify the ENGINEER of
discrepancies before proceeding with the installation of the work. Set wall boxes in advance
of wall construction blocked in place, and secured. Set wall boxes flush with the finish. Install
extension sleeves as required to extend boxes to finished surfaces.
