Section 21: Care & MaintenanceReplacementIf the o-rings become damaged to the extent that no longer provide aneffective seal, they should be replaced. If there is any doubt whetherthe o-rings should be replaced, it is best to err on the side of safetyand replace them.Before replacing o-rings, clean all mating surfaces, including theo-ring grooves.O-rings and lubricant are included in the MP <strong>TROLL</strong> 9000 Maintenancekit available from In-Situ Inc. or your distributor.General CleaningRinse the instrument body well, especially if it has been in contactwith contaminated media. Air-dry or wipe with a lint-free tissue.Ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended.StorageStore the <strong>TROLL</strong> <strong>9500</strong> clean and dry. Place the protective red dustcapon the cable end, or store with cable attached to protect the connectorpins and o-ring.Store the instrument where it will be safe from mechanical shocks thatmay occur, such as rolling off a bench onto a hard surface.Protect the instrument from temperature extremes. Store within a temperaturerange of -40°C to +80°C (-40°F to +176°F).If the sensors are removed for storage, place plugs in the dry sensorports as protection from dust and dirt.Sensor StorageFor long-term storage, return the water-quality sensors to their originalpackaging. Protect the lubricated o-rings from dust and dirt.For up to a week, the sensors may be left in the instrument, with amoist sponge in the bottom of the Cal Cup to provide a moist environmentfor those sensors that require it.Twist-Lock ConnectorsKeep the pins on all connectors free of dirt and moisture by using thesoft protective dustcap when cable is not attached.<strong>TROLL</strong> <strong>9500</strong> Operator’s <strong>Manual</strong>142 0095110 rev. 007 01/09
