Section 4: Control SoftwareThe User InterfaceWin-Situ 4 and Pocket-Situ 4 use the familiar “Navigation tree” todisplay your instrument network. The tree appears on the left of thescreen in Win-Situ, and at the top of the screen in Pocket-Situ. Theremainder of the screen is an “Information pane” with details aboutthe “node” you have selected in the tree. The selected node and itsinformation constitute a “view” in the interface.The Win-Situ 4 Application Window (desktop/laptop PC)Navigation treeInformation paneThe Navigation TreeAt the top of the tree is the“Home” site (the hostSiteFlow-Sense WizardData FolderConnectionDeviceParametersTestscomputer). Belowthis is the Flow-Sense Wizard (seeSection 20), then theData Folder containingtests that have beenextracted from the device to the host computer. This is followed byone or more connections (COM ports), and then one or more devices(Multi-Parameter <strong>TROLL</strong>s or other In-Situ instruments) accessiblethrough each COM port. The Device node is further expandable toshow the parameters the device can measure and the tests containedin the device’s memory.The site, wizard, data folder, connection, devices, parameters, andtests are all “nodes” in the Navigation tree. The symbol + means anode can be expanded to show more nodes below it.
