Das Lenbachhaus
Zu den ganz großen Attraktionen der Münchner Museumslandschaft
gehört die im Mai 2013 nach jahrelangem
Umbau wieder eröffnete Städtische Galerie
im Lenbachhaus.
Die weltberühmte, in der denkmalgeschützten Villa
des Münchner Malerfürsten Franz von Lenbach untergebrachte
Sammlung, zu der u.a. die Sammlung Blauer
Reiter mit Werken von Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele
Münter, Alexej Jawlensky, August Macke, Franz Marc
und Paul Klee gehört, wurde durch einen imposanten
Kubus des Londoner Architekten Sir Norman Foster
erweitert.
The Lenbachhaus
One of the biggest attractions in the Munich museum
landscape is now, after years of renovation, the municipal
art gallery in the Lenbachhaus, which was reopened
in May 2013.
The historical monument villa that belonged to the
painter prince Franz von Lenbach, houses the world
famous art collection which includes the Blauer Reiter
collection with works by Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele
Münter, Alexej Jawlensky, August Macke, Franz Marc
and Paul Klee and many others, and it has now been
given an extra annex in the form of an impressive cube
by the London-based architect Sir Norman Foster.
