Aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert stammt die Schlossanlage
Schleißheim im Norden der Stadt im Vorort
Schleißheim gelegen und bestehend aus drei einzelnen
Schlossbauten, dem Alten Schloss, dem Neuen
Schloss und Schloss Lustheim sowie einer großzügigen
Gartenanlage (Bild links). Es gehört zu den bedeutendsten
barocken Schlössern Europas. Als Sommerresidenz
für die Kurfürsten errichtet, blieb die Anlage
jedoch unvollendet.
Besonders sehenswert ist im Schloss Lustheim, am
Ostende der Parkanlage gelegen, die Sammlung Meißener
Porzellan.
The Schleißheim Castle complex in the Schleißheim
district to the north of the city was built in the 17th
and 18th centuries. It comprises three independent
palaces, the Old, the New and the Lustheim castles,
and a generous park garden (pic left). It is one of the
most significant baroque palaces in Europe. Built as
a summer residence for the prince electors, the complex
was, however, to remain unfinished.
Particularly worth seeing in Castle Lustheim at the
eastern end of the park is the collection of Meißener
porcelain.
