Zudem gibt es eine rege Off-Theaterszene, die von der
Stadt gefördert wird. Mehr als 60 freie Theater- und
Tanzensembles und Privattheater stellen unter Beweis,
dass es auch abseits der großen Bühnen lohnt, Theaterentdeckungen
zu machen. Bühnen wie das Pathos
München, der Schwere Reiter, das Metropol-Theater
in Freimann, das i-Camp in der Au und „Theaterberserker“
wie Alexeij Sagerer mit seinem proT, George Froscher
mit dem legendären FTM oder der Choreograph
und Visionist Micha Purucker zeigen Off-Produktionen
sowie Avantgarde und bereichern die lebendige und
vielfältige Szene der darstellenden Künste. Im zweijährigen
Turnus findet DANCE statt, das Münchner
Festival für performative Künste, also Tanztheater. Das
Theaterfestival SpielArt zeigt, ebenfalls alle zwei Jahre,
aktuelle Inszenierungen und neue Theaterformen aus
aller Welt auf verschiedenen Bühnen.
Freunde des Kabaretts werden in München mehr als
in jeder anderen Stadt auf ihre Kosten kommen. Ob
die legendäre Lach- und Schießgesellschaft, Gerhard
Polt und die Biermösl Blosn, Bruno Jonas, Monika Gruber,
„Fonsi“ Christian Springer, Helmut Schleich, Georg
Ringsgwandl oder die Wortakrobaten von Faltsch
Wagoni – um nur einige zu nennen – sie halten mit
Aktualität und beißendem Spott in Spielstätten wie
dem Lustspielhaus, der Lach- und Schieß, dem Vereinsheim,
dem Theater im Fraunhofer, der Drehleier
und anderen Kleinkunstbühnen tagtäglich die Kabaretthochburg
lebendig.
Unverwechselbares Flair und tolerantes
Miteinander
Kunst und Kultur für alle Menschen zugänglich, finanzierbar
zu machen und Schwellenängste abzubauen,
ist eine der Aufgaben des Kulturreferats. Dies gelingt
auch durch die Nutzung des öffentlichen Raums; und
München hat dafür wunderbare Plätze: z.B. den Odeonsplatz,
auf dem auch das jährlich veranstaltete AnderART
Festival, das andere „Volksfest“ der Kulturen
am mittleren Oktoberfest-Wochenende stattfindet,
den Olympiapark mit dem Theatron, in dem u.a. jeden
August das längste Open-Air der Welt stattfindet,
Veranstaltungen auf dem Marienplatz, wie z.B.
der Christopher Street Day, oder den Corso Leopold,
um nur einige zu nennen. Menschen mit verschiedenen
Interessen, unterschiedliche Generationen und
Nationalitäten kommen bei freiem Eintritt auf einem
prominenten Platz zusammen und sorgen für ein unverwechselbares
Flair und ein tolerantes Miteinander.

DANCE is held every two years. It is Munich’s festival
for performing arts, i.e. dance theatre. The SpielArt
theatre festival, also held biannually, puts on modern
productions and shows new forms of theatre from all
around the world on a range of different stages.
Munich has more to offer cabaret fans than any
other town. Whether it be the legendary Lach- und
Schießgesellschaft, Gerhard Polt and the Biermösl
Blosn, Bruno Jonas, Monika Gruber, “Fonsi” Christian
Springer, Helmut Schleich, Georg Ringsgwandl or the
word acrobats of Faltsch Wagoni – to name just a few
– they keep the cabaret stronghold alive and kicking
with current affairs and stinging irony in venues like
the Lustspielhaus, the Lach- und Schieß, the Vereinsheim,
the Theater im Fraunhofer, the Drehleier and any
number of others.
A unique flair and a tolerant society
Making art and culture available, affordable and attractive
to all people is one of the responsibilities of
the department of culture. It does so by utilising public
places – and Munich has fantastic ones such as Odeonsplatz,
where every year on the second weekend of
the Oktoberfest the AnderART Festival, the somewhat
different public festival of cultures, is held, the Olympic
park with its Theatron, where, among other things,
the longest open-air concert in the world is held every
August, and of course Marienplatz, where Christopher
Street Day and the Corso Leopold, to name just two
events, are held. People with varying interests, of different
generations and nationalities come together for
free in a prominent place and create an unmistakable
flair and tolerant togetherness.
