Olympiapark Sommerfest<br />
Das von der Olympiapark <strong>München</strong> GmbH organisierte<br />
Fest bietet Familien in den Sommerferien ein umfangreiches<br />
Programm. Höhepunkte sind die beiden<br />
Feuerwerke sowie das Internationale Fischerstechen<br />
auf dem Olympiasee.<br />

Christkindlmarkt<br />
Beinahe jeder Münchner Stadtteil hat seinen Weihnachtsmarkt<br />
mit speziellem Flair. Weit über die Stadtgrenzen<br />
hinaus bekannt ist <strong>München</strong>s traditioneller<br />
Christkindlmarkt auf dem Marienplatz, wo am Freitag<br />
vor dem ersten Advent der circa 30 Meter hohe<br />
Christbaum mit r<strong>und</strong> 2 500 Kerzen zum ersten Mal<br />
erstrahlt. Über 150 Marktkaufleute präsentieren ein<br />
vielfältiges weihnachtliches Warenangebot. Jährlich<br />
kommen drei Millionen Besucher <strong>und</strong> genießen Lebkuchen<br />
<strong>und</strong> Glühwein <strong>und</strong> entdecken ausgefallenen<br />
Baumschmuck oder besondere Figuren auf dem „Kripperlmarkt“.<br />
Olympic Park Summer Festival<br />
This festival, organised by Olympiapark <strong>München</strong><br />
GmbH, offers an extensive programme for families<br />
in the summer school holidays. Highlights here are<br />
the two fireworks displays and the international canal<br />
jousting on the Olympic Lake.<br />
Christmas market<br />
Nearly every Munich quarter has its own Christmas<br />
market with its special flair. The Christkindlmarkt at<br />
Marienplatz is the most famous, where on the Friday<br />
before the first Advent weekend, a 30 metre high<br />
Christmas tree is erected with aro<strong>und</strong> 2,500 lights.<br />
More than 150 market merchants sell a wide range of<br />
Christmas products at the market. Three million people<br />
visit it every year to enjoy gingerbread and mulled<br />
wine and buy decorations or find figures for their nativity<br />
set on the so-called “Kripperlmarket”.<br />
