sich dabei nicht nur auf Künstlerinnen und Künstler beschränkt,
sondern vielmehr auch deren Partner, Produzenten
und Vermarkter – etwa in den Bereichen der
Musik-Labels, der Comic-Kunst, der Galerienlandschaft
einschließlich der Off-Spaces, des Musikmarktes, des
Buch- und Literatursektors und des Films einbezogen.
Münchens Theaterlandschaft
Eindrucksvoll präsentiert sich auch die Theaterlandschaft
Münchens. So zählen die Münchner Kammerspiele
zu den bedeutendsten deutschen Sprechtheatern.
Wiederholte Einladungen zum Berliner Theatertreffen,
Gastspiele auf den wichtigsten Bühnen im Inund
Ausland und Maßstab setzende Inszenierungen im
Schauspielhaus, in der „Spielhalle“ und im Werkraum
belegen den künstlerischen Rang des Ensembles. Intendanten
wie Otto Falckenberg, Hans Schweikart,
August Everding, Dieter Dorn, Frank Baumbauer und
aktuell Johan Simons haben das künstlerische Profil
des Hauses maßgebend geprägt. Traditionell konkurriert
das einzige erhaltene Jugendstiltheater mit dem
Staatsschauspiel, dem so genannten Residenztheater,
das aktuell mit Martin Kusej als Intendanten arbeiconfident

Baumbauer and currently Johan Simons have shaped
the artistic profile of this theatre. Traditionally this
only remaining art-nouveau theatre competes with the
state theatre based in the Residenztheater, which is
currently under the direction of Martin Kusej. It is a
passionate competitive relationship to the benefit of
theatre fans in Munich.
