große Angebot an qualifizierten Dienstleistern und Zulieferern
ist dabei ein wichtiger Baustein für die hohe
Standortqualität der Region München. Zudem ist
München bedeutender Medienstandort und ein Zentrum
der deutschen Finanzwirtschaft. Die Stadt gilt
als Versicherungsplatz Nummer eins in Deutschland
und als wichtiger Sitz für Vermögensverwaltungen.
Im europäischen Vergleich verfügt die Region München
auch über eine bedeutende Kreativwirtschaft.
Der als „Münchner Mischung“ bekannte Mix aus Unternehmen
unterschiedlichster Größe und Branchenzugehörigkeit
sorgt für eine hohe Krisenfestigkeit der
Wirtschaft. Es ist das Ziel der Münchner Stadtpolitik,
diese Mischung zu erhalten und Produktion, verarbeitendes
Gewerbe sowie Handwerk am Standort
zu halten und zu fördern. Ein wichtiges Anliegen der
städtischen Wirtschaftspolitik ist es, die Rahmenbedingungen
für die bereits vorhandenen Cluster zu optimieren.
Durch den Ausbau von Kompetenzbranchen
werden Wirtschaft und Forschung enger vernetzt. Das
Know-how der beteiligten Firmen, Hochschulen und
Forschungseinrichtungen wird gebündelt und so effizient
in Produkt-, Verfahrens- und Serviceinnovationen
umgesetzt.
München und Bayern – stark im Export
Die Münchner und bayerische Wirtschaft ist besonders
exportorientiert und stark international vernetzt.
Die Exportquote des verarbeitenden Gewerbes in Bayern
lag 2011 bei 52,9 Prozent. Die bayerischen Unternehmen
exportierten Waren im Gesamtwert von 160
Milliarden Euro, ein Plus von elf Prozent gegenüber
dem Vorjahr. Der Ausfuhrüberschuss betrug 14 Milliarden
Euro. Diese Zahlen belegen die Stärke der bayerischen
und der Münchner Wirtschaft im globalen
Wettbewerb. Die wichtigsten Exportmärkte für bayerische
Unternehmen sind die USA (15,4 Milliarden
Euro), gefolgt von China (14,2 Milliarden Euro), Österreich
(13,8 Milliarden Euro), Italien (11,6 Milliarden
Euro) und Frankreich (11,4 Milliarden Euro). Ein besonders
hohes Absatzwachstum erreichte die bayerische
Wirtschaft 2011 in Russland (+ 41,7 Prozent), in der
Türkei (+ 30,8 Prozent) und in Südkorea (+ 25,6 Prozent).
Der Hauptanteil der bayerischen Exporte (54,9
Prozent) geht aber nach wie vor in die Länder der Europäischen

The mixture of companies of all sizes and from all industries

the Munich municipal politics to maintain this mix and
to keep and promote the production, processing and
craft sectors at the venue. One key cause of the city’s
economic policy is to optimise the framework conditions
for the existing clusters. By building on the fields
of expertise, economy and research become more
closely connected. The know-how of the companies,
universities and research facilities involved is grouped
together and efficiently turned into product, process
and service innovations.
Munich and Bavaria – big exporters
The Munich and Bavarian economies are strongly export
oriented and internationally networked. The export
ratio of the manufacturing sector in Bavaria was
52.9% in 2011. Bavarian companies exported goods
to the value of 160 billion euros, which equates to a
plus of 11% as against the previous year. The export
surplus was 14 billion euros. These figures show the
strength of the Bavarian and Munich economies in the
global competition. The biggest export markets for
Bavarian companies are the USA (15.4 billion euros),
China (14.2 billion euros), Austria (13.8 billion euros),
Italy (11.6 billion euros) and France (11.4 billion euros).
The Bavarian economy achieved particularly high
