inûrika yawma tebyaddu wujûhu awliyâika walâ tusewwid wejhî<br />

bizunûbî yawma tesweddu wujûhu a’dâika.”<br />

As you wash your right <strong>for</strong>earm (including the elbow) you say:<br />

“Allâhumma a’tinî kitâbî bi-yemîni wa hâsibnî hisâban yesîran.”<br />

As you wash your left <strong>for</strong>earm (including the elbow) you say:<br />

“Allâhumma lâ tu’tinî kitâbî bishimâlî wa lâ min warâî zahrî walâ<br />

tuhâsibnî hisâban shedîdan.”<br />

As you make masah on your head you say: “Allâhumma<br />

harrim sha’rî wa besherî ’alannârî wa azillenî tahta dhillî ’Arshika<br />

yawma lâ dhilla illâ dhilluka.”<br />

As you make masah on your ears you say: “Allâhumma-j’alnî<br />

minalla-dhîna yestemi’ûna-l-qawla fa yettebi’ûna ahseneh.”<br />

As you make masah on (the back of) your neck you say:<br />

“Allâhumma a’tik reqâbatî min-an-nâri wahfaz min-es-selâsili wal-aghlâl.”<br />

As you wash your right foot you say: “Allâhumma thebbit<br />

qadamayya ’ala-s-sirâti yawma tezillu fîhil-aqdâm.”<br />

As you wash your left foot you say: “Allâhumma lâ-tatrud<br />

qadamayya ’ala-s-sirâti yawma tatrudu k<strong>ul</strong>lu aqdâmi a’daika.<br />

Allâhumma-j’al sa’yî meshkûran wa zenbî maghfûran wa ’amalî<br />

maqbûlan wa tijâratî len’tebûra.”<br />

When you are through with your ablution you say:<br />

“Allâhumma-j’alnî min-at-tewwâbîna wa-j’alnî min-almutetahhirîna<br />

wa-j’alnî min ’ibâdika-s-sâlihîna wa-j’alnî min-alledhîna<br />

lâ khawfun ’alaihim walâ hum yahzenûn.”<br />

Thereafter, looking at the sky, you say: “Subhânakallâhumma<br />

wa bihamdika esh-hadu an lâ ilâha illâ Anta wahdaka lâ sherîka<br />

laka wa anna Muhammadan ’abduka wa rasûluka.”<br />

Thereafter you say the Sûra of Innâ anzelnâ once or twice or<br />

three times, beginning the Sûra by saying, “Bism-illâh-ir-Rahmân<br />

ir-Rahîm,” be<strong>for</strong>e saying it.<br />

It is necessary <strong>to</strong> learn the religious teachings that your family<br />

and children need <strong>to</strong> learn and <strong>to</strong> teach them these teachings. On<br />

the Rising Day men will be questioned about their wives.<br />

CONCERNING THE TAYAMMUM<br />

In the Hanafî Madhhab tayammum will be sahîh also be<strong>for</strong>e a<br />

prayer time begins. It will not be sahîh in the other three<br />
