ABSTRACT
By their own nature, dictionaries are never definitive, let alone etymological ones. In
spite of the updating reflected in its second edition of 2003, our continuous work on
collecting and surveying lexical items of Arabic and other Eastern stock in the Romance
languages of the Iberian Peninsula has yielded a sizable number of additions and
corrections, offered in this article for the benefit of those interested in Romance or
Oriental studies.
