НЕВРОЛОГИ ПОКАЗАЛИ, ЧЕМ НА САМОМ ДЕЛЕ ОПАСЕН СТРЕСС
Ученые установили: хронический стресс вызывает смерть
стволовых клеток в гиппокампе, центре памяти мозга.
Как отмечает Medical Express, хронический стресс уже
связывали с депрессией, шизофренией, повышенным риском
нейродегенеративных заболеваний вроде болезни Альцгеймера.
Однако до недавнего времени не было известно об истинном
основании этой взаимосвязи.
Оказалось, хронический стресс запускает процесс аутофагии в
стволовых клетках взрослого гиппокампа. Этот процесс помогает
клеткам избавляться от собственных ненужных составных
частей, но иногда он может приводить к смерти. Было доказано:
при удалении одного из ключевых генов аутофагии (Atg7) клетки гиппокампа не умирали в условиях стресса
и тело не демонстрировало характерных для стресса симптомов.
Остановить запуск опасной для клеток реакции помогало и удаление гена SGK3. Он отвечает за саму
инициацию аутофагии. По мнению ученых, если разработать генную терапию, удастся справиться не только
с депрессией и тревожностью, но и деменцией.
