Diese etwas außerhalb von Vilcabamba gelegene Unterkunft wird von einem
amerikanisch-englischen Ehepaar betrieben. Die Familie besitzt ein Stück
Land, das sich innerhalb des Podocarpus Nationalparks befindet und es ist
deshalb naheliegend, dass Touren (Eintages- bis Mehrtagestouren) mit oder
ohne Pferd in den Nationalpark organisiert werden. Im Zuge der neuen
Grenzziehung des Nationalparks stellte sich heraus, dass sich ein Stück des
Privatlandes innerhalb des Parks befindet. Dem Besitzer ist deshalb die
Errichtung eines offiziellen Eingangs von Vilcabamba aus in den
Nationalpark ein wichtiges Anliegen.
“Well, this is kind of a goal to open up the entering way here in the workout
of something with the ministry. And you got a kind of an idea what the
project is, this is kind of like this is right now what we hope to happen in the
future. This could be a big project. And we can have it a long time. It’s a
long-time-relationship. And what other: I don’t know. That’s been kind of
our thing, is to kind of create a niche would be providing this entering way
into the Park. We are right here, it’s right up there, that’s why we got this,
there is right up the valley other piece of land. It has been sort of our future
project at last I don’t know for how many years. We bought the land 7 or 8
years ago something like that and we were working out something with the
previous owner and then we got bought it from him. This has been kind of
an idea for a long time, just trying to create like an eco-tourist centre, trying
the bird-studies, get some help with other studies and information that we
