Bezeichnung <strong>der</strong> Teilmengen des Komplexes <strong>der</strong> deep nuclei von Pitkänen genannt werden.<br />
Während Paxinos, Watson und Swanson die Kerne als Lateral nucleus, Basolateral nucleus<br />
(BL) und Basomedial nucleus (BM) bezeichnen, verwendet Pitkänen die Begriffe Lateral<br />
nucleus, Basal nucleus (Bnc) und Accessory basal nucleus (AB). Sie setzt also ihren Basal<br />
nucleus mit dem Basolateral nucleus und den Accessory basal nucleus mit dem Basomedial<br />
nucleus <strong>der</strong> an<strong>der</strong>en Autoren gleich. Teilweise unterscheidet Pitkänen Unterkerngebiete, die<br />
bei Paxinos und Watson zu höheren hierarchischen Ebenen dazu gerechnet werden bzw. bei<br />
Swanson gar nicht vorkommen. Ein weiteres Beispiel ist die Unterteilung des Medial nucleus.<br />
Während Pitkänen eine rostral division beschreibt, bezeichnen Paxinos, Watson und Swanson<br />
diese als anteroventrale Teilmenge von Me; die caudal division des Me heißt bei den an<strong>der</strong>en<br />
Autoren „posterodorsal part“.<br />
