What does the Assistant Local Representative
of the KfW in Cameroon do?

he KfW Office in Yaoundé (“Office
Yaoundé”) is headed by a local representative
working under the general
direction of the KfW Office in Accra (Ghana)
represented by its director, Dr. Wolfgang
Weth, and the regional director of
KfW Frankfurt, Mr. Bernd Leibbrandt. The
local representative, Dr. Joseph Ntangsi, is
supported by the assistant local representative,
Dr. Angeline Nguedjeu-Momekam.
The assistant local representative acts under
the guidance and supervision of the local
representative.
The general function of the Office
Yaoundé is to provide services and support
to KfW headquarters as requested by its sector
and country teams. As such the Office
Yaoundé and its staff has to understand
itself as a service provider which must combine
the available resources in such a way
that KfW can achieve its Cameroon–related
objectives in the best possible manner.
The responsibility of the assistant local
representative is therefore to give the staff
of KfW headquarters logistical, organisational,
and professional support with respect
to all relevant matters concerning the preparation
and management of projects and
programmes as well as the representation
of KfW against the Government, donors
and other partners in the conduct of Financial
Cooperation in the most efficient and
effective manner. This includes the necessity
to coordinate KfW’s activities closely with
other institutions and organisations which
are part of the German Development
Cooperation in particular GTZ, the
Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany,
the German Ministry of Economic
Cooperation and Development and DED
Decentralisation and the green sector are
the responsibilities of the Assistant Local
Representative as the Local Representative
is responsible in-country for the health sectors,
the transport sector as well as macroeconomic
analysis.
General Responsibilities
In close coordination with the sector and
country teams of KfW as well as with the
local representative of Office Yaoundé the
assistant local representative carries out the
following general tasks. She as such:
· facilitates communication between KfW
headquarters in Frankfurt and Cameroonian
authorities;
· contributes to effective and efficient mis-
