SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT (SCC)
GENERAL:
The Special Conditions of Contract shall be read in conjunction with the General
Conditions of Contract, Schedule of rates, specifications, drawings and any other
documents forming part of contract, wherever the context so requires. Notwithstanding
the sub-division of the documents into these separate sections and volumes, every
part of each shall be deemed to be supplementary to and complementary of every
other part and shall be read with and into the CONTRACT so far as it may be
practicable to do so.
Where any portion of the General Condition of Contract is repugnant to or at variance
with any provisions of the Special Conditions of Contract, unless a different intention
appears, the provisions of the Special Conditions of Contract shall be deemed to override
the provisions of the General Conditions of Contract and shall to the extent of
such repugnancy, or variations, prevail.
Wherever it is mentioned in the specifications that the CONTRACTOR shall perform
certain WORK or provide certain facilities, it is understood that the CONTRACTOR
shall do so at his cost and the VALUE OF CONTRACT shall be deemed to have
included cost of such performance and provisions, so mentioned.
1.0 SPECIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT
1.1 INTRODUCTION
GAIL (India) Ltd., a Govt. of India enterprise ( henceforth called as GAIL) is
one of the largest gas processing, transmission & marketing Organization in
the country, desires to have Comprehensive Maintenance Support Services
(henceforth called as MSS) & Facility Management Services (henceforth
called as FMS) contract for smooth operation of the following IT
Infrastructure:-
1.1.1 Enterprise-wide existing / upcoming desktop / laptop PC Systems,
Printers, UPS & associated Peripherals.
1.1.2 Existing Servers at IT Data Centre, Noida(U.P), as per Annexure-‘C’
and Servers of other locations, Networking equipments / devices, Line
Printers, UPS and associated Network accessories / peripherals of all other
Locations (including Noida), as per Annexure ‘B’.
Comprehensive Maintenance Support Services (MSS) shall cover
Maintenance & repair of IT Systems, covered under the Scope of Work,
including all kind of breakdown and preventive Maintenance, replacement
of parts, modules, sub-modules, assemblies, sub-assemblies, spares etc.
Facility Management Services (FMS) shall cover various technical services
such as support for Desktop Management Services, Network & Server
management Services, Data Center Management Services, Database
Management Services, Backup services, e-mail, Intranet, Internet services,
Vendor Management services, Help Desk services etc. for all the IT System,
including Systems under Warranty. This is aimed to achieve maximum
