(j) Few Systems / Peripherals, covered under MSS / <strong>FMS</strong> are installed at<br />
the residence of senior officers of <strong>GAIL</strong>. If required, Contractor shall<br />
be required to attend the maintenance calls at their residence<br />
through resident Support engineers. <strong>GAIL</strong> shall provide a list of such<br />
PCs / Peripherals to the Contractor.<br />
(k) At each site, the contractor shall maintain device drivers, Patches,<br />
software tools, such as data recovery tools from crashed Hard Disk<br />
or mistakenly crashed hard disk, Registry maintenance tools and any<br />
required tools and utilities on Central Help Desk for making it<br />
available on LAN /WAN all across <strong>GAIL</strong> locations. This activity shall<br />
be completed within one month of commencement of MSS & <strong>FMS</strong><br />
contract.<br />
(l) In case of Hard Disk failure, the contractor shall make all attempts<br />
possible to retrieve the data & transfer to new Hard disk. Contractor<br />
shall make available required Data recovery tools at all sites. In<br />
case, it is not possible to recover the data using the tool, the<br />
contractor should recover the data through reputed Data Recovery<br />
Agencies. In case the Data Recovery Agencies also fails to recover<br />
the data, the report from the Agency has to be produced to <strong>GAIL</strong>.<br />
(m) <strong>GAIL</strong> will also make the best efforts to recover the data from any<br />
other external agency and data recovery charges so incurred by<br />
<strong>GAIL</strong> will be deducted from the subsequent quarterly bill of the<br />
contractor.<br />
2.1.5 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (PM)<br />
(a) The contractor shall follow a strict preventive maintenance schedule for<br />
all Systems covered under MSS Supports and carry out the same at<br />
least once in a quarter. The contractor must ensure that he maintains a<br />
datasheet for each machine available, which will contain the<br />
configuration of each machine and dates of completion of various<br />
preventive maintenance activities.<br />
(b) The Contractor shall carry out Preventive Maintenance as per check list<br />
format given under Annexure-‘H’ and get it signed from the individual IT<br />
Users. The contractor shall submit / maintain record of completed service<br />
report, alongwith signature obtained from users ensuring satisfactory<br />
completion of jobs. The Contractor shall submit these reports for<br />
verification by the engineer-In-charge at the time of submission of their<br />
quarterly invoice to <strong>GAIL</strong>.<br />
(c) Internal cleaning of all the systems, sub-systems & peripherals, covered<br />
under the contract shall be carried out by the Contractor during<br />
Preventive Maintenance using portable vacuum cleaner / tools / brush /<br />
cleaning agents etc.<br />
(d) During quarterly PM of Machines, in addition to attending the specific<br />
complaints, Contractor will make suitable use of trouble shooting /<br />
diagnostics Software tools, installed and available with each Desktop /<br />
laptop, to reconfirm the hardware configuration of each PC / Peripherals<br />
