reference of the Contractor personnel, the same can be referred to by GAIL
personnel also as a pre-emptive precaution also.
2.8 ADDITIONS / DELETIONS OF SYSTEMS
(a) Location-wise installation details of IT System & Peripherals along
with MSS / FMS indicative commencement dates have been specified at
Annexure ‘A’ & ‘AB’.
(b) Details of Servers & Networking devices & associated Peripherals
along with MSS / FMS indicative commencement dates have been
specified at Annexure–B & Annexure-C.
(c) Presently some of the networking equipments, Servers, PCs,
associated peripherals are under warranty with different vendors up to
different point of time. Comprehensive MSS & FMS for these equipments
will start on the expiry of warranty period. GAIL reserves the right to add
/ delete any networking equipment, computer (s) or peripherals (s), as
and when required to the Scope of Work.
(d) Any addition / deletion of the equipment for MSS & FMS shall be
done by the respective IT In-charges of site offices for which rates are
available in the contract at any time during the contract period on prorata
basis, irrespective of location within GAIL.
(e) In case non-availability of MSS rates in the contract for System of
same type, make & model, new System will be added based on MSS rates
of nearest similar / equivalent make / model of that type.
(f) The additional cost will be worked out based on quantity as well as
corresponding period for which MSS & FMS coverage is required for these
Machines. The maintenance of these additional machines shall be carried
out under the same terms & conditions agreed therein in the contract. The
total contract value will get modified on a pro-rata basis. Such revised
charges shall become effective/ payable from the date of addition/
deletion.
(g) As per GAIL policy, time to time old Servers, Networking devices,
Desktop, printers & associated peripherals required to be phased out and
replaced by new / latest IT devices, having three years Warranty Support
from the Supplier. In that case, phased out IT devices will be excluded
from the MSS / FMS and newly installed IT devices will be covered only
for FMS support. The RSE at respective locations will assist in Porting the
program / data from phased out System to the new system and
subsequently provide FMS support of all those installed IT Assets.
(h) GAIL is free to move the IT Systems / Sub-systems to any of its
existing / new sites in India. The Contractor shall assist, install and
maintain the Systems at its new locations, as per scope of contract,
irrespective of its earlier coverage in the MSS. The Contractor shall not
levy and claim any extra maintenance charges, other than those already
agreed in the contract, on the systems being shifted & installed at new
location.
