FMS - GAIL

GAIL mail messaging system comprises of 19 servers with Exchange
Standard 2000 and Exchange Enterprise 2000 Servers. Messaging system
at Noida data center is on Active-Passive cluster and also has the Internet
Mail Service (IMS) connector. All the other mail servers of different
locations are on single node mode. The mail messaging solution is
integrated with the Rightfax fax solution (solution provided by M/s
Captaris) wherein the mail servers are connected with the 5 nos. of fax
gateways installed at Delhi, Mumbai, Baroda, Lakwa and Rajahmundry.
The only Internet gateway of GAIL is installed at Noida data center with the
Firewall (clustered), Virus wall, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and
Spamware.
GAIL is using the Enterprise Management Solution (EMS) from M/s
Computer Associates at the enterprise level. Accordingly, the components
like Network Management Option, Server Management Option, Remote
Control Option, Asset Management Option, Software Delivery Option,
Cluster Management Option, Service Plus & Service Desk, Utilization and
Availability Reports etc. are in use. Contractor has to use the EMS solution
for management & administration of GAIL Systems & Services, generate
MIS reports on regular basis.
Contractor shall be having the expertise to suggest, configure and create
any additional reports required for day-to-day usage / monitoring of
Systems and also to modify the existing solution for the better usage.
Enterprise-wide Antivirus solution is implemented in GAIL. Addition and
deletion of the nodes (desktops/servers) on to the solution and
maintenance of the solution for generating reports on the latest
implemented virus definitions and the necessary changes to be made on
the nodes etc. shall be in the scope of the vendor. Also, Roll-Out of the
latest applicable patches (MS Office, Windows, Internet Explorer, Windows
Media etc.) on to the desktops and servers, wherever applicable in GAIL, is
also the part of the scope.
Project management application Primavera and the Media streaming
solutions are deployed in GAIL. Document Management (M/s Newgen
supplied Omnidcos package) is already implemented and is used
extensively in Corporate Office. Veritas System based backup & restore
solutions along with Quantam make tape drive / llibrary has been
implemented in Noida, Pata, Vijaipur and Jaipur offices. Other specialized
application packages such as Gas Management System (GMS) for
generation of gas Invoicing & reporting, CCTV system for Security
monitoring, Geologic Work stations, Geographical Information System
(GIS) of M/s ESRI consisting of various GIS modules are also operational in
GAIL Data center. Operational support such as daily health check, taking
data backups & restoration of all above mentioned application packages will
also be under the scope of the contract.
2.1.2 LOCAL AREA NETWORKS & WIDE AREA NETWORKS
Integrated Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
infrastructure are available at all locations comprising of UTP CAT-5 / CAT-6
