Following services are covered under FMS:- a) Maintaining, installing Operating Systems; repair, disconnection and reconnection of Desktop, Laptop, handheld devices like imate, Printers, Monitors, Scanners, Modems, Utility peripherals as and when required. In addition to this, installation, updation, removal and maintenance of SAP GUI, office automation or any other such client related software packages either automatically through a system (login scripts / EMS) or manually visiting each device is to be carried out by the vendor. Contractor has to provide other misclleneous services such as relocation of Systems, adding / removing accessories, attachment or other devices peripherals. b) Installating, reloading, reconfigurating, updating of any desktop client machine for e-mail, Internet explorer, Intranet, Internet etc., as and when required, under MS Exchange environment or any other future change/modification. c) Configuration / reconfiguration of client machines to ensure optimum network connectivity and services availability to all Users. d) Re-establishment of the network connectivity and services availability after any hardware / software failure. e) Maintaining record of all new installed machines, movement of machines within site, change in configuration of machines. f) Regular checkup and cleaning of registry to protect the PCs against the Viruses / Worms. GAIL will provide anti virus tool for diagnosing & rectifying any virus problems by the contractor. However, in the extreme cases, the contractor shall bring his own tools / software for providing such services at sites. g) Configuring the print server, loading of Printer Driver and resolving all printing problems of Users. h) Rectification of the problem of UPS including replacement of UPS Batteries. i) Arranging / Downloading Software patches / drivers of peripherals / Software tools and upgrades from Internet or from concerned software principals and its subsequent application at designated PCs / Peripherals. j) Checking the external LAN connections / communications which are considered parts of machines for un-interrupted desktop operation. k) Providing operational support to installed DLP Projectors, as and when required. l) Providing operational support to installed Tandberg Video Conferencing systems, as and when required. m) Proper Asset Management of the PCs / peripherals. 152
2.2.2. NETWORK & COMMUNICATION LINK MANAGEMENT SERVICES Network & Link Management Services shall cover the LAN Infrastructure & WAN links across GAIL. This shall include following activities to be done along with any other activities required to be done, for optimum utilization of Networks and ensuring the availability of services :- a) Daily monitoring of LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN & Video Conferencing Systems / Services, using the System Software, including all the active / passive Network components & Link etc., troubleshooting and reporting the status to respective GAIL Engineer In-charge as per formats decided by GAIL. b) Configuration / Reconfiguration of Routers, dial-up Modems, High speed / leased Modems, Layer-2 / Layer-3 switches, RAS, Hubs, Nodes, Wireless Access points, Handheld devices like imate, Servers etc. for Network operation, as and when required. Keep the back up of latest configuration of Network devices and maintaining Documentation of all updates. c) To provide troubleshooting, diagnosis and escalating the calls to concerned vendors and to the technical backend team in case hardware or configuration related problems occur and maintain database for the same for future reference. d) Provide services for configuration / reconfiguration of Network monitoring tools such as CISCO Works and TACACS. e) Provide services for operation & Management of Wireless LAN, as per requirement. f) Maintain an updated inventory / asset list of GAIL IT Network Infrastructure. g) Maintain and updated document for LAN / WAN network diagrams with relevant details for all GAIL Locations. This shall include documentation for changing the passwords of routers / switches. h) Maintain TFTP Server to keep the configuration of the routers / switches. i) Update firmware / IOS of the routers / switches whenever applicable. j) Provide services for link / device augmentation / deletion, relocation, connection / disconnection etc., as and when required. k) Provide services for Protocol configuration on any new Router / Switch as per existing routing protocol. l) Maintain and update IP address list of complete Network and optimum management of IP address. The Contractor should understand the existing IP address scheme of GAIL and allocate the IP addresses including their labeling for a new LAN segment, as per scheme under intimation to EIC. 153
