2. SCOPE OF WORK<br />
The enterprise-wide rate contract shall cover the various equipment for<br />
comprehensive Maintenance Support Services (MSS) & Facility Management<br />
Services (<strong>FMS</strong>) for installed / upcoming PCs, Printers, UPS & other<br />
associated Peripherals and installed / upcoming Servers, Networking<br />
devices & other Network accessories / peripherals during the Contract<br />
period.<br />
Location-wise details of installed PCs & associated Peripherals across <strong>GAIL</strong><br />
are given at Annexure-‘A’ & ‘AB’. Details of installed Servers at Noida<br />
Data Center are given at Annexure-C. Details of other installed Servers<br />
(excluding Noida Data center), Networking Devices and Network<br />
Peripherals of all other locations (including Noida Data center) have been<br />
mentioned at Annexure – B.<br />
COMPRENHENSIVE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT SERVICES (MSS)<br />
This involves comprehensive maintenance and repair of all IT Hardware<br />
covered under the contract, including replacement of parts, modules, submodules,<br />
assemblies, sub-assemblies, spares etc to make the system<br />
operational. This will include all kind of breakdown maintenance and<br />
preventive maintenance. The breakdown could be for any reason,<br />
whatsoever. The details of the maintenance services in respect of Network<br />
devices, Servers and Desktops are given in the following paras.<br />
FACILITY MANAGEMENT SERVICES (<strong>FMS</strong>)<br />
The services under <strong>FMS</strong> comprise of Network & Link Management Services,<br />
Server Management Services, Back-up Services, Fault Management<br />
Services, Desktop Management Services, support for e-mail services,<br />
Internet access gateway management, including firewalls, IDS, web<br />
contents / URL filtering, proxy Servers / Services, Vendor management<br />
services, Help Desk services and other related services. The details of each<br />
of the services are given in following paras.<br />
2.1 COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT SERVICES (MSS)<br />
2.1.1 IT SETUP IN <strong>GAIL</strong><br />
<strong>GAIL</strong> (India) Limited has presence across India at approximately 90<br />
locations with approx. 3500 employees. 68 locations, having internal LAN,<br />
are connected through <strong>GAIL</strong> WAN and the others are accessing <strong>GAIL</strong> IT<br />
resources through VPN / Internet. These 68 locations are connected using<br />
approx. 105 Cisco Routers with connectivity over OFC, Microwave, Sattelite.<br />
<strong>GAIL</strong> IT setup includes, Microsoft Windows 2000 based Active Directory<br />
(AD) consisting of different Organization Units (OU) and Sub-OUs catering<br />
to approx. 3600 users, 3000 computers spread across approximately 90<br />
locations. There are 23 Domain Controller Servers (DC) for user<br />
authentication in major locations. Desktop computers dynamically pick the<br />
IP address from DHCP servers which are hosted on DC along with the<br />
internal Domain Name Server (DNS).<br />
