FMS - GAIL

q) Provide support for Storage Management, such as :-
a. Configuring disk arrays, RAID 0,1,5,6 etc.
b. Configuring Veritas Clusters, Tape drives.
c. Disk and file System cleanups & maintenance using System
commands.
d. Automation of disk cleanup operations.
e. Adding new file systems, logical volumes and correcting file system
inconsistencies.
r) Performing periodic backup / restore of system files / volumes and maintain
list of all systems, root directories and volumes and back up of the file
systems.
s) Security management – Configuring Account policy, Access rights,
Password control.
t) Verify logs in event logger and periodically clean up log files.
u) Contractor shall ensure time synchronization of all servers preferably by the
external standard clock & also ensure all critical services are running on the
servers.
v) Maintain list of all system files, root directories, volumes & System
configuration.
w) Take backups of the file systems and verifying the all system backups by
periodically restoring the same.
x) Ensure that Networks, Servers are kept virus / worm free. Anti-Virus
software will be provided by GAIL. However contractor shall be required to
arrange downloading latest anti-virus updates from the Internet & ensure
its implementation immediately.
y) The contractor shall be responsible for upkeep of server racks and server
rooms, maintenance of records / registers, logs, standard operating
procedures, procedure for shut down and restart of servers, backing-up and
clearing of server logs.
z) The contractor shall check health of the batteries in Servers (CMOS / RAID
5) and ensure that they get replaced at appropriate time.
• The details of the Servers available at Noida Datacenter for performing
MSS / FMS activities by contractor has been enclosed as Annexure-C.
• The details of Servers & Networking devices installed at other locations are
attached in Annexure-B.
