cable based structured cabling, Fiber Optic Cables (Single mode & Multi
mode), Manageable / un-manageable HUBs, Layer-2 / Layer-3 Switches,
Routers, Media convertors, passive components, dial-up / leased line
Modems, meant to provide connectivity between different types of Servers,
PCs, Work stations, peripherals, associated UPS Systems etc.
The Contractor shall create and maintain a knowledge base of the
typical hardware and software problems faced and the resolution
thereof in a structured format on GAIL’s Intranet during the
currency of the contract. This shall be done with a view that it
serves a future reference for all the engineers of the contractor /
other AMC vendors. The Contractor shall submit a weekly report to
this affect to the respective IT In charge.
The indicative list of Servers installed at Noida Datacenter has been
mentioned in Annexure-C and indicative list of Servers, Networking
hardware, associated UPS systems etc. installed at other locations has been
mentioned in Annexure-B. The actual hardware, to be covered under this
contract shall not be limited to this list alone. The scope of work shall be as
mentioned below, but not limited to this, as it is the prime responsibility of
the Contractor to make the Systems fully operational:-
The Contractor shall diagnose and carry out comprehensive Maintenance of
the Hubs, Switches, Router, passive components, Jack Panels, converters,
connectors, Patch cords, Patch panels and other networking components
installed at various locations of GAIL.
The contractor shall be responsible for fault diagnosis and rectification of
the Network System, including the repair of Fiber Optic Cable cuts at
respective sites, if any. This shall include the supply and replacement of all
the defective parts / units / components etc. as and when required during
the currency of the Contracts for Networking devices & associated
Networking Peripherals. The Contractor also undertakes to maintain and
replace, if required, the connectors / patch cords / UTP Cable or any other
item as required to rectify the defect(s) brought to his notice so as to bring
the network equipments / UPS / other associated peripherals etc. in the
satisfactory working standards, acceptable to GAIL.
The Contractor shall maintain all the detailed logs of faults / history records
of all the equipments.
The Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all the
Server / Network racks & related accessories.
The contractor shall diagnose / identify cable faults due to any reason and
rectify / replace damaged / faulty structured cabling segment with similar
type or higher & specifications of cables. For this purpose, appropriate cable
testing / certification equipment has to be arranged & used by the
Contractor.
At variouis existing / upcoming locations, contractor can be asked to lay
fresh LAN cables on the basis of SOR rates offered under Table – ‘J’. This
