2.5 STOCK OF STANDY / SUBSTITUTE EQUIPMENTS<br />
(a) Apart from keeping minimum 5% of spares inventory at all the RSE<br />
deployed sites, the contractor shall also maintain stock of the subsitiute<br />
reserve to the extent of 2% each of desktop PCs, Printers, UPS and<br />
Scanners (Full boxes) at respective site. Incase 2% is in fraction (>0.2),<br />
the nearest higher number is to be taken. In additon, they shall make<br />
standby arrangement for all critical equipments, such as switches,<br />
routers etc. at various locations. However, the site EIC’s decision shall<br />
be final on the contractor so as to identify for which of the critical<br />
equipments standby is to be kept, based on remoteness of the location<br />
and criticality of the system.<br />
(b) Incase of PCs and printers (Deskejet/Laserjet), the standby should<br />
necessary be of the same make and similar model as in use at the site<br />
with cartiage.<br />
(c) However at remote locations, the minimum quantity of standby<br />
substitute equipment should be increased appropriately to maintain the<br />
SLR.<br />
2.6 RESIDENT SERVICE ENGINEERS & SUPPORT STAFF AT SITES<br />
2.6.1 FOR DESKTOP PCs, PERIPHERALs, SERVERS & NETWORK DEVICES<br />
MANAGEMENT<br />
(a) The Contractor shall ensure deployment of required nos. of qualified &<br />
trained engineers as Resident Service Engineers (RSE) at various locations<br />
for total Desktop PCs & associated Peripherals, Servers and Network<br />
devices Management. Name of these locations and number of Resident<br />
Service Engineers required at each location along with other details has<br />
been specified at Annexure “D”.<br />
(b) The Resident Support Engineers (RSE) shall also carry out the Facility<br />
Management Services (<strong>FMS</strong>) at respective sites as defined at para under<br />
“Facility Management Services (<strong>FMS</strong>)”. They should also provide first level<br />
support for critical servers and networking equipments, installed at that<br />
site.<br />
(c) The Contractor shall provide adequate support services (unskilled<br />
category) at <strong>GAIL</strong> Corporate office-Delhi, Noida, Pata & Vijaipur Plant<br />
Complex for cleaning of equipments, shifting of Hardware and performing<br />
other contract related miscellaneous jobs.<br />
(d) A CA Unicenter Help Desk (Servcie plus Service Desk) System has<br />
been in operation in <strong>GAIL</strong>. To run the same during the normal working<br />
hours, the contractor is required to deploy a trained and experienced help<br />
desk superviser, one each at Corporate office and Data center Noida.<br />
Contractor shall provide a PC (P-IV and above) and a printer at all <strong>GAIL</strong><br />
locations where RSEs are to be deployed.<br />
(e) Contractor can increase the strength of the service engineers to meet<br />
the systems uptime requirements as per SLR at respective location. <strong>GAIL</strong><br />
may ask for deputing additional Resident Service Engineer at existing /<br />
